ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: LABOUR RELATIONS
Nature of Appointment: Permanent Appointment
Salary: R393 711 per annum (Level 9) plus benefits

Requirements:
Matric/NQF Level 4 Certificate plus a recognised National Diploma/Degree in Labour Relations, and Human Resource Management (NQF Level 6) or equivalent. At least 3–5 years’ experience in the Labour Relations environment. Knowledge and understanding of the Labour Relations Act, Public Service legislations and policies related to Human Resource Management. Advanced experience in the development, implementation, and interpretation of Labour Relations policies and procedures. Sound knowledge and understanding of the Labour Relations statues. Sound knowledge of International Labour Organisation (ILO). Knowledge and understanding of the TVET/CET Administration. Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education Sector. Knowledge/understanding of PERSAL. A valid driver’s license is a prerequisite. Good verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing-skills
Duties:
Maintain sound Labour Relations across delivery sites. Render advice on labour related matters. Develop. implement and review Labour Relations policies, procedure, and manuals. Ensure proper implementation of disciplinary procedures, grievance procedures and code of conduct. Oversee and facilitate investigations and disciplinary proceedings. Ensure management of strikes across delivery sites. Minimize labour disputes and ensure labour peace. Facilitate and conduct labour relations training and workshops. Management of appeals and disputes within the prescribed timelines. Ensure proper implementation of the collective bargaining council resolutions. Represent the college at Bargaining councils and the CCMA. Manage the Human, Financial and other resources of the unit.
