Tshwane North TVET College would like to invite suitably qualified, innovative, result-orientated and self – driven candidates to apply for the Contract positions at the Pretoria Campus. 

 

HEAD OF FOOD AID SERVICES AND CASHIERS  

SALARY:  R176 310 per annum plus 37% in Lieu of benefits     

CENTRE: Pretoria Campus  

DURATION: 24 Months contract  

REF NO: TNC/TPTA/22 - 06/1  

  

REQUIREMENTS: ● Matric/Level 4 (NCV) in Hospitality/ National Diploma in Hospitality. 2 years' experience in Hospitality. Must be computer literate and have excellent organisational skills. Ability to write reports. Must be able to work in a team and independently, and also be able to work under pressure. 

 

DUTIES:  ● To render supervision in Food Service and Restaurant  · Supervise all activities in the food services, including food preparation, distribution and serving · Maintain hygiene and safety measures · Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and it is used effectively · Ensure replacement or repair of faulty/outdated equipment · Responsible for ordering, receiving, storage, stock control and stock taking · Responsible for completing monthly statistics · Perform administration functions linked to food services Monitor the work of cashiers and food services activities on a daily basis• Create and distribute cashier schedules and till allocation• Ensure that workload is equally divided between cash registers. Supervise the activities of checkout stations on a constant basis• Manage bank deposit activities and make sure that cash is counted accurately at the end of each shift• Reconcile cash with receipts at the end of each shift and make sure that any discrepancies are managed immediately. • Identify and correct cash register errors and take measures to ensure that further errors do not happen• Maintain and update daily, monthly and yearly accounts spreadsheets• Provide assistance with year-end inventory preparation. Ensure that the facilities are locked after cleaning 

 

  FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT & FAST-FOOD CASHIER    

SALARY:  R147 459 per annum plus 37% in Lieu of benefits     

CENTRE: Pretoria Campus  

DURATION: 24 Months contract

REQUIREMENTS: ● Matric/ Level 4 (NCV) in Hospitality /N6 in Hospitality. Experience in Hospitality. • Any other relevant qualifications in Hospitality and must be computer literate and have excellent organisational skills.  Must be able to work in a team, independently and under pressure. 

 

DUTIES:  ● Fully responsible for the till, float, cashing up, banking and backing up of daily activities.  Fully responsible for controlling all stock (Consumables and non-consumables). When new stock arrives, check if the stock is correct and only then sign off the receipt.  Customer care is of utmost importance, be friendly, polite and helpful. All reasonable instructions are to be carried out with diligence and competence and to the best of your ability. Personal hygiene is of utmost importance, and you are expected to always keep your personal belongings hygienic. Responsible for cleaning of any equipment used and assisting in cleaning of restaurant on daily basis.  Planning to be done according to season. Make sure that the working station/area is always clean. Ensure that the facilities are locked after cleaning

  ASSISTANT CHEF  

SALARY:  R124 343 per annum plus 37% in Lieu of benefits     

CENTRE: Pretoria Campus  

DURATION: 24 Months contract

REQUIREMENTS: ● Matric/ Level 4 (NCV) in Hospitality /N6 in Hospitality.  •Must be computer literate and have excellent organisational skills. Must be able to work in a team, independently and under pressure. 

 

DUTIES:  ● To make sure that the food has been prepared according to organisational requirements for the clients. Clean kitchen utensils and equipment · Provide catering support services to other delivery sites · Keep stock of kitchen utensils and equipment · Apply hygiene and safety measures · Maintain quality control measures of all food provided · Removal of garbage disposal · Prepare food, snack and beverages (water, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and cold drinks) · Setup and convey crockery, cutlery and equipment to dining areas · Serve food and beverages · Responsible for food supplies and report waste and losses.. Liaise with hospitality division for standards practicals.  Responsible for control as well as ordering stock needed, (consumable). Ensure that facilities are locked after cleaning
