Requirements: In order to be considered to serve as a peer tutor, the applicant must have:
NCV Programmes: 8 (Eight) Peer Tutors
The student MUST have achieved or obtained a minimum of 70% in the subject that they are interested in for mentoring/tutoring.
N.B:
· This opportunity is ONLY open or available to students who have studied the National Certificate (Vocational) in Transport & Logistics and Office Administration.
· The applicants MUST not have been found guilty of any misconduct and must display good behavior and good leadership.
· The student MUST NOT have participated in previous similar programme.
· MUST be willing to work extra hours and with students with special needs in education.
NATED/REPORT 191 Programmes: 3 (Three) Peer Tutors
The student MUST have achieved or obtained a minimum of 70% in the subject that they are interested in for mentoring/tutoring.
N.B: This opportunity is ONLY open or available to students who have studied the following programmes and subjects:
· Management Assistant/Public Relations: Information Processing N5 & Computer Practice N5.
· Public Management: Municipal Administration N5. The applicants MUST not have been found guilty of any misconduct and must display good behavior and good leadership.
· The student MUST NOT have participated in previous similar programme.
· MUST be willing to work extra hours and with students with special needs in education.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PEER TUTORS
1. A peer tutor is responsible for providing educational assistance to students, developing comprehensive learning strategies to address their studying challenges, and assisting them in college work.
2. Peer tutors arrange convenient tutoring schedules, recording their progress, and evaluating their skills with strict adherence to the course content and learning curriculum.
3. They also observe the students' learning approach and behaviors to identify areas of improvement, as well as to increase their focus and engagement.
4. A peer tutor must have excellent knowledge of the specific subject matter to administer the best learning experience.
5. Combine discipline plan with effective measures and various study plans to increase concentration, participation, and progress student accountability.
6. Facilitate tutorials in English for a variety of tasks at different levels.
