College Council Farewell Gala Dinner

Home / Events / College Council Farewell Gala Dinner

A Special Tribute to the outgoing College Council

The Tshwane North TVET College celebrated the exit of the second generation of council members. The Continuing Education & Training Act (No. 16 of 2006- hereon after “the ACT”), delineates the establishment of the College Councils, their powers, dissolution, and the term of office. The Act provides that once a College Council is constituted, its term of office is five years or until the Executive Authority decided otherwise.

The 2nd generation of the TNC Council members were in office since April of 2019 hence the 2024 academic year is their fifth year in office.

This elegant Gala dinner event was hosted at Pretoria campus on 05 April 2024, where the whole college council members, senior management, campus managers and their partners were in attendance. The Pretoria campus hospitality department showcased their ability to cater for such a high-profile event, from the décor to the food. Entertained by the Arts in motion live band from the state theatre which brought a celebration mood to the event, such a talent!

The principal of the College Ms Thembi Tsibogo gave a warm welcome to the members in attendance acknowledging the impact and stabilisation the council brought to the college.

The Chairperson of council Prof Phendla went back memory lane reflecting on the years in office, its challenges, and achievements.

It was indeed a night for celebration, a night to remember and with a sensational look presented by attendees.  Thank you to the outgoing members of Council!
