Dear TNC Students and Staff

The President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, addressed the nation on 11 July 2021 and extended the Covid-19 Adjusted Alert Level 4 for two weeks until 25 July 2021.

The decision affects TVET Colleges academic calendar and the following changes are therefore being put in place by the Department of Higher Education & Training:

For Semester 2 (Business studies), the return date for lecturing staff will be 26 July 2021 while the return date of students will be 28 July 2021. All other dates, including examinations, remain the same as in the 2021 Academic Calendar.

For NC (V) and PLP, the return date for lecturing staff will be 26 July 2021 while the return date of students will be 28 July 2021. All other dates, including examinations, remains the same as in the 2021 Academic Calendar.

For Trimester 2 (Engineering studies), remote support will be provided for students where practicably possible during the Adjusted Alert Level 4 lockdown. Trimester staff will be expected to provide remote support to students where possible. Trimester 2 staff are not on leave during the Adjusted Alert Level 4 period. The return date of lecturing staff will be 26 July 2021 and students will be 27 July 2021. The Trimester 2 examinations will have to be postponed.

Remember to frequently sanitize or wash your handswear a mask; and keep a minimum distance of 1,5m from other people.

Please continue to follow all COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Your continued co-operation in this regard will be highly appreciated. In this worrisome time, staff, students, and all college stakeholders are advised to regularly check the internal college communication channels, as well as the college’s website and official social media platforms for updates.
