SALARY: R270 498.00 plus 37% in Lieu of benefits

Requirements: Matric certificate plus an appropriate three-year REQV13 Qualification (National diploma/ National N diploma /bachelor’s Degree) in Civil Engineering and Building Construction. Carpentry and Roof work Trade. Teaching methodology is prerequisite. Computer Literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) SACE registration. At least one year teaching experience in Carpentry and Roof work (theory and practical) L2-L4 and other subjects in the programme. Assessor/Moderator qualification will be an added advantage, Knowledge of Legislation governing the sector. A Valid driver’s license.

 

Duties: The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching Carpentry and Roof work (theory and practical) L2-L4, Concrete Structurers( theory and practical) L2-L4, Plant and equipment ( theory and practical) L2-L3 and Materials (theory & practical) L2-L4, preparing assessment and moderation. Conducting assessments and marking of tasks, Conducting of ISAT, Preparation of file (POA & POE), Record keeping (recording of marks) and lesson planning. Conduct classes on the above-mentioned subjects. Conducting quarterly stock take, organizing students PPE and complying workshop submissions. Organize relevant curricular activities to ensure that the subject, learning area of the learners are conducted in a proper manner. Assess and record the attainment of learners. Assist with the issuing and retrieval of textbooks and management of equipment etc. Organize experiential training for students. Report and account for student performance in their programmes. Record and report on absenteeism and perform other relevant duties within the ambit of teaching and learning.
