Principal’s Youth Day Message to the Students of Tshwane North TVET College 16 June 2025.
Theme: “Education, Skills Development, and Economic Participation—Building a Future for South Africa’s Youth”
Dear Students,
On this significant day, 16 June, we pause to remember the fearless youth of 1976 whose courage in the face of injustice forever changed the course of our country.
They stood up not just for themselves, but for future generations, for you and me. Their bold resistance against an oppressive education system reminds us that the fight for access to quality education is deeply rooted in our collective history.
As we commemorate Youth Day under the powerful theme “Education, Skills Development, and Economic Participation—Building a Future for South Africa’s Youth,” we are reminded that today’s struggle is no longer fought in the streets, but through books, skills acquisition, innovation, and economic empowerment.
At Tshwane North TVET College, we are proud to walk this journey with you; to equip you not only with knowledge, but with the practical skills and mindset required to shape a better future for yourselves and your communities.
You are the living legacy of the youth of 1976, and it is through your commitment, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that South Africa will rise to meet its future.
Let this day inspire you to lead with purpose, to learn with passion, and to act with integrity. The challenges we face today, unemployment, inequality, and the changing world of work can only be overcome through your active participation in building an inclusive and thriving economy.
As your principal, I believe in your potential. I urge you to remain focused, embrace innovation, and seek opportunities to grow. Your education is your power, wield it wisely and boldly.
Happy Youth Day!
May we honour the past by shaping a future that reflects the hopes and dreams of those who came before us.
Yours in learning and leadership,
Ms Thembi Tsibogo Principal
